The preliminary task really helped me to feel confident in the main task. I felt that it gave me a good idea of what to expect for the main radio script. I found it quite difficult scripting my preliminary task but then when it came round to the real task it helped me and I didn't make the same mistakes again. I felt that I was not as prepared as I could have been for the preliminary task and could have taken a little more time to plan it but because I made that mistake first time round I made sure that I planned my final script and had plenty of time to re-do or change parts of it. If I hadn't have done the preliminary task I think the final task may have been a little bit rushed of un-thought through because I wouldn't have known what to expect or how long it takes to write how much of a script and actually how much you have to think about when writing it. When recording my preliminary task I learnt the basics of how to use the technology to record and edit sounds and voices and I also got to hear lots of different sound effects that I could use in my preliminary task and also use in my final task. This helped to get an insight of recording the final product and helped me when I was writing the scrip because I could remember some of the things I heard and learnt and so I could include them. Looking back to my preliminary task I feel some of the decisions I made on who to record what voice and what music or sound effects to use may have been a little wrong but in making those mistakes it helps not to make them again and to make sure I planned everything out way before hand second time round.
This is my preliminary task:
