Evaluation Question 6

I have learnt about technologies throughout the process of recording and editing. I found it really interesting how much you can change someone's voice/sounds by just making the pitch higher or lower or changing the tone or effect. Whilst recording the presenters and adverts I learnt how easy it is to make mistakes but on the other hand how easy it is to change those mistakes if they are made. For example if someone takes a deep breath whilst recording there part, you don't have to ask them to record it again you can just simply cut out that part of the recording really easily. The equipment we use to record looks quite simple but really it is quite complex. I learnt things like how far away someone has to stand from the mic to record, the small things like that will make a huge difference in how what they are saying sounds. I probably would not have had a clue how to even press record on the computer and record someone speaking before the process of constructing this product. I labelled each of the files and stored them in relevant folders including cuts, finished, mixed and music. This helped me keep organized and was easy access when it came to editing.
I recorded everything and then edited it after. I edited out things like gaps pauses, any mistakes removed and any talking to give the actor information and tips on how to record. Once I had edited I put music and sound effects over the top to make it more interesting and sound much better.
This is the voice of the mum in the foundation advert before I edited:

This is it then after I edited:

This is the Take that voice over before I edited:

As you can see I have had to edit out quite alot to make it sound like it does at the end.
